Why it's better to lose weight slowly over time than to experience fast fat loss with an extreme diet.
In this episode I talk about how important it is for us to have realistic – long-term timelines for weight loss. We are so easily drawn to fitness programs that offer dramatic transformations in 4-6 weeks – sometimes less — and the data overwhelmingly shows that the FASTER you lose weight, the less likely it is going to stay off. The more slowly and consistently you lose weight, the more likely that weight loss will be permanent. Furthermore, giving ourselves a reasonable timeline decreases STRESS and improves wellness. All good.
