    About Kim Gustafson and Dr. Michael Decker

    Kim Gustafson is a co-founder and Chairman of the RMCSR (Rocky Mountain Consortium For Sports Research) and the founder of OPEDIX.
    He graduated from the University of Colorado, then developed a diverse business background, became a successful entrepreneur in numerous start-ups, and served as the Managing Director of European & Asian Operations for a U.S. based public company with subsidiaries in the U.K., France, and Germany. He was based in London for nearly 17 years and obtained British citizenship, providing him dual nationality status.
    After returning from Europe, Mr. Gustafson relocated to Vail, CO in 2002. An avid skier, alpine ski instructor and accomplished entrepreneur, he lends his life experiences to make a difference in sports health and safety through applied science and research.

    Michael Decker, Ph.D. is the Executive Director for the Rocky Mountain Consortium for Sports Research (RMCSR).  Dr. Decker has managed a scientific research and development consulting company over the past decade inventing a wide range of products including, but not limited to, neuromuscular training, technical athletic apparel and state-of-the-art motion capture systems. He is a Senior Research Consultant for the Mechanical and Materials Engineering Department at the University of Denver and centers on translating movement technology to athletic populations for the enhancement of performance, safety and long-term health. Dr. Decker trained for nearly a decade at the world-famous Steadman Philippon Research Institute in Vail, Colorado studying clinical biomechanics of the hip, knee and shoulder and maintains several collaborative relationships with his medical colleagues at the Mayo Clinic, CU Sports Medicine, Vail Summit Orthopaedics and Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children. Dr. Decker was an instructor in the Integrative Physiology Department at the University of Colorado and has presented at numerous national and international meetings, published nearly 200 peer reviewed articles including manuscripts, abstracts and book chapters; and received awards for research, academic and teaching excellence.
