It Gets Harder. And Easier At the Same Time.

Snap Crackle POP!

I have no idea why I just typed that. Is it because I'm thinking of carbs and Rice Krispy Treats popped into my head? Who knows? Do you really need a reason? There really doesn't need to be a logical train of thought in this world.

But suffice it to say, today was another GREAT day. Busy, but I got stuff DONE.

Workout in the morning? OH YEA.

Vitamins and Supplements? Check.

Did I order more groceries to match my diet needs? CHECK. Gotta love Peapod:

And then I made an old favorite with the above ingredients from Gina Allioti's DVD:

Yes. Zucchini Protein Bread. Isn't very sexy looking but it will make you sexy if you eat it and workout and keep the rest of your diet clean. ;-)

Here's my BABBLE-ON-A-THON about USING A HEART RATE MONITOR and why ----- it's important and more important, why if you are just getting started, you cannot CANNOT CANNOT count on the machines at the gym or the announcement outside of a class that "This class burns 700 calories in an hour!"

Lots of things were delivered today. Seriously. My doorbell was ringing every 5 minutes it seemed.

Yummy. I cannot wait to do these. ;-)

I also got this with my Peapod order, which all my FitFluential besties seem to rave about for sprinkling on food:

I will do a video tour perhaps of my fridge and you'll see how badass preparing-chick I am now. And--- my blog title today, "It gets harder and easier at the same time". What do I mean? My workouts are getting harder. They are supposed to. So is my muscle. WOOT! Yes I said that. And the "diet" is believe it or not getting easier, although with each day I'm getting more "strict" in sticking to it and TAKING CARE OF ME and fueling my body and not looking at it like a chore.

I finished up my day today with a 90-Minute Massage at Life Time Fitness. (my gym). Remember. I told you, I- and several other Fitfluential peeps and friends have all said they've found the best massage therapists at their Life Time Fitness. You all know I've been getting massages for years so I am very very picky. AMAZING---- THE ONLY THING MORE AMAZING ARE THE SICK PRICES! The most reasonable massage prices I've EVER seen. Oh-- and if you aren't a member, you can get a massage AND get free childcare for 2 hours AND use the gym for that day. HELLO.

And with this I say, HELLZ YEA. Goodnight.

Mix it UP!

(Sorry, checked the site today and half of the picture I posted before was GONE?? Had to slide in a quick replacement!)

A couple of years ago I would have looked at this picture and scoffed and said, "Who on earth would want to run outside when it's cold and snowy?" Now I am that person that can't WAIT to do just that!

Pretty cool.

And I am realizing more and more how GOOD it is for us to MIX IT UP- in our workouts and our diets. Keeps our body guessing, keeps us from getting bored and it makes this fitness journey FUN! ;-)

You know what I'm most looking forward to in my own fitness quest? Seriously ~ being able to know that I've reached an ideal fat loss goal and can then simply enjoy all the various fitness activities I love without being so DANG preoccupied with fat loss. Sigh. See- you kids have to realize that even I, Miss Motivation, can get seriously down sometimes. I'm SO impatient and am putting in SO much effort, it is beyond frustrating to feel like SOMETIMES I am the only one at a plateau like this. And I know TOO WELL that it is way too early for me to be whining. I only started adjusting my "diet" with the 4HB approach in late December, and then, as I shared, I realized I screwed that up and wasn't spot on with a few important details. So this Sunday, I've 'begun' my caloric tracking, and hitting only a specific target limit and keeping my workouts to a more reasonable 45-60 minutes, as opposed to the 90 minute + sweatfests I was aiming for in the past.

Anyway, I hope you kids are having a fabulous day. This evening, if you are free, join us on Twitter at 7pm CST. I’m working with General Mills as a panelist for the MultiGrain Cheerios Twitter Parties. Tonight will feature Danny Cahill, winner of The Biggest Loser Season 8 answering some questions. Coolness! (#client) Hint Hint- I'll be doing a giveaway here at the close of this Chat tonight:

You likey?? Then stay tuned!!! WOO-HOO!! ;-) I am so not lying- and anyone that has been to my house can attest to this, Cheerios has always been one of my favorite cereals- hello- a great portion size for the calories. Serious Yum with some Almond Milk. Werd UP. Leave a comment to be entered into the drawing!

Now, sit back and enjoy some babboliciousness with Kelly:

I Will.

HEY KIDS!!!! How is your week going? Do you know that I seriously have to look at my calendar when I'm about to blog- to see what day it is?? When you travel like I have been, and I'm at conferences on the weekend (kind of sucktastic, not sure why they are always on the weekends!), the "work week" is a blur. Mondays don't seem like Mondays, except for Manjoyment of course.

Anyway. Thanks for all of your emails regarding the breathing during running. It's good to know, or comforting to me, to know that many of you had to deal with the same issues early on in your running practice. All I can say is, I WILL put this minor issue behind me.

Amy has been raving about her latest TRX classes. There is some tough broad that lives by her that teaches a class out of her home gym. Apparently it is KILLER. So you know- I WILL go there.

Last night I finished polishing off my spreadsheet of Workout DVDs - so I can incorporate a nice balance when I plan my week's workouts going forward. I'm actually very excited about this, because I don't LIKE when I am winging it. When I head to the gym without a plan, I'm going to have a tendency to not do as much. If you spend half of your time staring at hotties trying to suck in and look cute staring at machines wondering what you should do next, you are WASTING TIME. I won't waste time. I don't have time to waste. I WILL plan. I WILL execute on my plan. I WILL achieve success. I WILL be pleased with my results. I WILL reach my goals. I WILL be doing a happy dance every day.

And with THAT, I must bid you farewell today. As usual, I'm insanely busy, but also very VERY excited to have received my NEW POLAR HRM!! Seriously!!

I got the Polar RS300x with Foot thingy. (Ooops yea, I'll give the technical terms later- foot pod??) Anyway, you all know how much I love my Polar and how much I swear by it. It isn't GUESSING like many machines do on what you are doing performance-wise and calorie burn. I also plan to get a new MAP test done (Metabolic Assessment Profile) at Lifetime Fitness, maybe next weekend. The video below shows you an example of how a test like this is done. They have you walk then run then sprint with this odd contraption on (not good for winking at the hot guy walking by, FYI), while measuring your oxygen intake/outtake etc. Then, these results are transferred to your Polar HRM so it is measuring YOUR specific calorie burn, not a guestimate. Pretty spectacular if you ask me. Worth looking like a robot moron for 10 minutes too, while you do the MAP test. ;-)

Ok, so you all have a great day and since we are on the topic- QUESTION OF THE DAY IS: Do you use a Polar HRM or Garmin, or other similar device? If so what and why do you love it?

Below is my vlog about the cool new running books and my running training for the Vegas 1/2 Marathon in 10.5 weeks!! WOOT!!!
